How can I go to the Convention?

Ohio's 173 delegates and alternates will be representing our state at the Convention. If you are not an elected delegate or alternate, the Ohio Republican Party offers you a unique opportunity to travel with the delegation as an Honorary Delegate or Special Guest. Honorary Delegates are given exclusive access to delegate-only functions as well as priority consideration for the coveted Convention Session passes, among other benefits.

Where is Ohio staying?

Ohio has been awarded exclusive use of the Radisson Plaza Hotel in downtown Minneapolis as our official delegation HQ. We also have been given additional rooms at the nearby Marquette. Your hotel rooms MUST be booked through the Ohio Republican Party.

What will we be doing in the Land of 10,000 Lakes?

Plenty! In a setting of incredible natural beauty, the Minneapolis-St. Paul area offers a truly astounding array of cultural treasures, entertainment options, winning eateries and the world's largest shoppingcomplex.

Activities begin Sunday, August 31, and every day of the Convention, our Delegation will be invited to exclusive receptions at unique and historic locations in the Twin Cities - we'll be revealing more in the coming weeks!

SCHEDULE

Travel Packages: Details on hotel, pricing and registration deadlines can be found on your Hotel Package Fact Sheet.

At the Convention: Delegation activities begin on Sunday, August 31 and conclude Thursday evening, September 4. Registration for all Delegates, Alternates, Honorary Delegates and Special Guests will occur on Sunday, August 31 at our hotel.

A master schedule of daily Convention and Ohio Delegation events will be released soon.

TRAVEL

Because of the distance, air travel is strongly recommended.

TO/FROM MSP: Delegates, Alternates, Honorary Delegates and Special Guests are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to and from our hotels in Minneapolis-St. Paul. Northwest Airlines has been named the official airline of the convention, and a special 15% discount code will be released the first week of May. We will send you this information. Currently, roundtrip airfares from major Ohio cities to MSP have been running $500-$700.

IN MSP: Transportation to all official Convention sessions and Ohio Delegation events will be provided to Delegates, Alternates, Honorary Delegates & Special Guests. If you are planning activities beyond these events, you are encouraged to make use of public transportation or rental cars at your own expense. Keep in mind that there is a 20 min. driving distance between the two cities.

COSTS

Specific pricing is detailed in your Hotel Package Fact Sheet but travelers to the convention can expect their travel costs, including airfare, to range from $1600-$2500, per person (this is an estimate).

EVENT CREDENTIALS

Convention Sessions: Each Delegate and Alternate will receive one Convention credential for each of the official sessions plus one for your guest. The Ohio Republican Party will secure these for you and deliver them to you upon your registration with us in Minneapolis-St. Paul. If you are traveling alone, please let us know by filling out your Credential Donation Form so that we can offer up your guest credential to others traveling with our delegation.

Our Honorary Delegates are given priority consideration for these extra Convention Session passes.
