Can I register to vote as a Republican in Ohio?

Ohio law does not offer partisan voter registration. Your political affiliation is determined by your vote in a partisan primary. If you request a Republican ballot in a partisan primary, you will be identified by law as a Republican. If you have not voted in a partisan primary in the last two years, you are considered to be "unaffiliated" with a political party. Contact your county board of elections if you have additional questions about voter registration or party affiliation.
