If you have filled up your gas tank recently, you have likely noticed gas prices are once again on the rise. In fact, according to a report this morning from the Associated Press, gasoline prices are up more than a dime from last week at Ohio pumps:
"The state's average price for regular gas was $3.45 in Monday's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express. That's up 12 cents from the average of $3.33 per gallon a week ago."
This latest price jump is no surprise when one considers everything Barack Obama is doing to restrict domestic energy production. From preventing the Keystone XL Pipeline to delaying energy permits for natural gas development in Ohio and the Gulf of Mexico, it appears as though the Obama administration is going out of their way to prevent increased supply from meeting the growing demand of American businesses and consumers.
Last week, Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and the Republican-led House of Representatives passed - on a bipartisan basis - the American Energy & Infrastructure Jobs Act. The bill would reverse Barack Obama's anti-jobs agenda when it comes to domestic energy exploration and manufacturing.
The legislation supports domestic job creation in Ohio, and across America, by removing excessive government barriers to long-term economic growth, particularly in the production of American-made energy. Instead of more failed "stimulus" spending, the bill includes reforms that will help to clear the way for sustained U.S. economic growth.
