Ohio's Young Republicans are between the ages of 18 and 40 and are interested in taking an active role in Republican politics. They are organized as a special group because as young people they have different skills, opportunities and situations to incorporate into their political activity. Young Republicans take a very active part in GOP activities in their communities -- doing everything from voter registration drives, to phone bank operations, to being campaign managers and staff as well as running for public office themselves. They provide crucial support to the Republican Party, working to ensure the future of the party in their communities and state.
The Ohio Young Republicans (OYR) is a federation of county and regional clubs from all over the state. A Young Republican (YR) club provides the opportunity for young people who are interested in good government to:
- learn about government and politics,
- participate in the political process,
- meet with elected officials and key decision makes
- meet like-minded individuals in their own community as well as across the state and nation, and
- become better informed and more involved citizens.
In 2004, the Ohio Young Republicans was awarded the prestigious President's Circle Award for its very successful voter registration drive.
We currently have 15 clubs around the state. To join one of those clubs or start a club in your area, contact the Ohio Young Republicans today!
