(Columbus) - The Ohio Republican Party launched a new website today designed to expose Gov. Ted Strickland's record of failed leadership, broken promises and incompetent management.

The site - www.TurnaroundTed.com - is named for Strickland's Turnaround Ohio plan, which he promised in 2006 would "rescue" Ohio's economy and "reverse" Ohio's unemployment trends.

"Incumbent elections are almost always about the incumbent's record," said Ohio Republican Party Chairman Kevin DeWine. "Ted Strickland promised to turn around Ohio's economy, but he lost 330,000 jobs and gave us the highest unemployment rate Ohio has seen in a quarter century. We will clearly and constructively communicate that record to Ohioans so they can decide for themselves whether he's done what he said he would do."

The party also released a new web ad contrasting Strickland's 2006 campaign promises with current economic and fiscal conditions. The ad can be viewed on the new website.

"This is only the beginning," DeWine added. "Our belief is that Ohioans simply need to look at Ted Strickland's record, and, when they do, they'll realize this state cannot afford four more years of mismanagement and incompetence. We will aggressively hold this administration accountable for its failed leadership, while we offer a slate of candidates who present a new way of leading Ohio."
