VIDEO: Ted Strickland - Economic Fail

Monday, April 12, 2010

The Ohio Republican Party released a new web ad today targeting Gov. Ted Strickland's failed economic record.  The ad follows Strickland's appearance today at a Mansfield energy company to promote Ohio's Third Frontier program.

Strickland calls the program "the most effective economic development, job creation tool that we have available to our state," but he admits he had nothing to do with creating it.

"The governor can't even take credit for what he considers to be the best thing happening in Ohio's economy right now," said Ohio Republican Party Chairman Kevin DeWine. "Ted Strickland clearly has no new ideas for creating jobs in Ohio, and the only accomplishment he can campaign on is a program created by his predecessor nearly a decade ago. Ohioans need a governor who can lead them into the future, not just rely on yesterday's economic development ideas."

The ad also highlights Gov. Strickland's economic legacy of more than 400,000 lost jobs, 10.9 percent unemployment, a projected $8 billion budget deficit and widespread economic failure.
