Raising nearly $800,000 in less than 150 days

COLUMBUS - Today the Steve Stivers for Congress campaign announced its fundraising total for the April quarterly reporting period in the race for the 15th Congressional District of Ohio.

In his April quarterly report to the Federal Elections Commission filed today, Steve Stivers reported $279,417 in contributions to the campaign. The campaign has raised $382,667 since January 1, 2008 and has $599,689 cash on hand. Including the year-end and pre-primary reports, Stivers has raised nearly $800,000 in less than 150 days since he announced his candidacy for the 15th Congressional seat on November 5, 2007.

"The outpouring of support -- both financial and otherwise -- is just remarkable," Stivers said. "I've received support from every corner of the district -- from young families and students to our seniors and veterans -- it's overwhelming and I'm honored for their trust and support. I plan to build on this momentum in the days ahead and will continue to work to improve our economy, create jobs and strengthen our national security.

Along with the fundraising momentum, Stivers convincingly won his party's nomination in the March 4th primary from voters in Madison, Union and the western part of Franklin County, which comprise the 15th Congressional District.

Stivers is a 23-year veteran of the Ohio National Guard; a former businessman at one of Ohio's largest employers; and a proven reformer in the state Senate who's pursued a moderate and independent course that has brought both parties together to solve problems.
