Statement from ORP Chairman Jane Timken on the Removal of Larry Householder as Speaker, Election of New Speaker

Columbus,OH – Ohio Republican Party Chairman Jane Timken released the following statement regarding the removal of Larry Householder as speaker, election of new Speaker of the House:

“We are pleased with the swift action taken by the Ohio House GOP caucus to remove Larry Householder from his position as Speaker of the House. There is a responsibility that comes with holding such a title and leadership role, and I commend the House members for taking recent allegations seriously and moving quickly on this issue. Ohioans deserve representation that is not tainted by greed or deceit.”

“I would also like to congratulate Representative Bob Cupp, of District 4, for being elected Speaker of the House by his GOP peers. I am confident that Representative Cupp is the best person to unite the caucus. He will bring much-needed transparency and accountability to the people of Ohio, and to the Ohio House of Representatives overall.”
